MUSIC THERAPYIMPROVE and ENHANCE
Music Therapy is used to improve and enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages by setting specific goals that can be reached through the creative process. Clinical and evidence-based, this program relies on the use of music interventions in a therapeutic relationship with a credentialed professional.
MUSIC THERAPY INTERVENTION CAN BE DESIGNED TO:
- Promote Wellness
- Manage Stress
- Alleviate Pain
- Enhance Memory
- Improve Communication
- Promote Physical Rehabilitation
PMAC’s certified music therapist, Ginna Macdonald, welcomes students of all ages and abilities and works with them to establish and meet goals, while encouraging self-expression and creative development. Music therapy has proven effective for many different types of disabilities and challenges, even in those who are resistive to traditional treatment approaches.
INDIVIDUAL MUSIC THERAPY
Individual sessions enable the therapist to work on the specific needs of the client, encouraging self-expression and creative development. Throughout each session, we will develop functional non-musical goals, design therapeutic music interventions to effectively meet goals, and document and evaluate ongoing progress.
